Film Talk: Framing Agnes
Julietta Singh and Chase Joynt were guests in Bern in May 2023. In their works, both text-based and cinematic, the two explore the ongoing global effects of colonisation and their intersection with ecology, race, gender and sexuality. In addition to a public lecture and workshop, Joynt's film "Framing Agnes", which focuses on the life of Agnes, a trans* woman and important figure in trans history, was shown in collaboration with Rex Cinema. The film, which won an award at the Sundance Film Festival, was voted best film of the year by The New Yorker.
