The doctoral program Studies in Language and Society (SLS) offers a broad interdisciplinary spectrum of methodological and theoretical approaches adopted from sociolinguistics, discourse analysis and other academic fields relevant for the combined examination of language and society.
Primarily, the program is oriented towards specific topics. It aims at a methodologically refined examination of sociolinguistic, discourse analytical or related matters of interest as well as positioning one’s own research within the scientific context opened up by the spectrum of language and society.
