The doctoral program Global Studies (GS) targets doctoral students conducting interdisciplinary research on current and historical processes shaped by interrelations and divergences which characterize fields of human existence across great geographical distances and different cultural contexts.
Primarily, the program focuses on problems arising from such settings. It envisions a critical approach to methods and theories of Global Studies and the development of a systematic understanding of established conceptual categories used in analysis, such as transfer, interrelations, and comparison of the past and present.
